WordPress Plugin to import New Blogger to WordPress
WordPress default Blogger Import does NOT work with New Blogger account.
Help: I want to move from my Blogger account to my own personal website hosted by WordPress. However, since I moved to the new blogger, I am unable to do so… please help?
This was one of the emails I received yesterday. Digging around, turns out that this is true. If you are using a @gmail.com to sign into your blogger account, it means that you are using the new Blogger.
It seems that for a lot of people, Google almost forced its blogger users to upgrade from the old blogger to the new blogger. So are you stuck with your blogger account? Actually no.
There is an excellent WordPress plugin called Romantika’s Blogger RSS Import.

As with any other plugin, here are the steps needed to install this plugin:
1. Upload the script to /wp-content/plugins folder.
2. Activate it under Plugins
3. Look for it under the Manage menu. You should see Blogger RSS Import
This seems to be the only Plugin Solution to import to your blog posts and comments from a New Blogger account to a WordPress Blog.
Oh, install WordPress Suicide as well. It is useful when the import failed, but use it with caution! . WordPress suicide comes in when your import fails and you need to mass delete your posts before trying the import again.
UPDATE: Ady Romantika updated the Blogger RSS Import page. According to Ady
“This plugin has been broken by changes made to feeds on Blogger, and is pretty much unusable anymore. The download links are still there so if you want to try it anyway you can do so”

Sorry, Ady’s plugin no longer works with Blogger as it stands today. Seems Google is making it hard for people to leave Blogger.

Actually Ash, Ady’s plugin does work. Only downside it is can get tricky. Before this article, I actually did a test run involving the import of a blog using Ady’s plugin.
