How to clear my Browser History
For a lot of people with privacy concerns, their number one concern is that the search engines and browsers store and keep track of their online activity. You can take steps to ensure that the search engines don’t keep track of your online activity. The instructions shown below are for clearing and/or disabling your search history in the mostcommon browsers such as Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Safari and Netscape Navigator.
Microsoft Internet Explorer
1. Go to the “Tools” menu.
2. Select “Internet Options” and the “General” tab.
3. Click the “Clear History” button. To completely disable the history function, set “Days to keep pages in history” to zero (”0″).
4. Click “OK” to exit.
Mozilla Firefox
1. Go to the “Tools” menu.
2. Select “Options” > “Privacy” > “History.”
3. Click on “Clear.” To completely disable the history function, set “Remember visited pages for the last X days” to zero (”0″).
4. Click “OK” to exit.
Safari
1. Click “History” on the top menu.
2. Click “Clear History” at the bottom of the menu.
Netscape Navigator 8.0
1. Go to the “Tools” menu.
2. Select “Options.”
3. Click on the “Privacy” icon on the left side of the Options window.
4. Select “Page History” and click the “Clear” button. You also have the option to set Navigator’s memory to zero days and to place a check mark next to “Clear page History on browser exit.”
You can clear all of your Privacy settings by clicking on the “Clear All” button at the top the Privacy Options window.

hi,
I have Mozilla Firefox and I know how to delete my browser history. The problem is that I haven’t done it in a very long time, so now there’s 80,000 items in my history, and when I try to clear it, Firefox becomes unresponsive and I have to force-quit it. Is there any other way to delete it?

This seems easy enough to do, in the past I always just hit the CTRL + F5 combo on the keyboard.

With Firefox, first go to Tools and hit “clean recent history”, them hit the last line and enter the privacy options. Hit “show cookies” and clean all cookies.

Seems that you can also use that private browsing feature with Google Chrome! Pretty cool to see browsers implementing this feature.
