Free Email Image Button Generator for your Blog
I previously blogged about displaying your email address as an image to prevent comment spam on your blog. The downside with that popular utility was that it only displayed your email address from a known ISP such as Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo etc. But how about something that you would like to use for your own blog such as ryan at techcounter.com Well, I first thought I could code it up but why reinvent the wheel. I had Google search pretty hard for it though to find a good source. Turns out there exists an email image button generator or rather a text to image generator.
Using this Email Image Generator, you can display any email address as an image for you to use on your blog or website and help reduce comment spam greatly.
You can choose your font, font size, the color of the text as well as the image background to generate images that match the theme of your blog. You can see it in action in my contact page.

To generate an Email Image for your blog
1. Click here for Text to Image Generator
2. Choose font, font size, text color and image background color.
3. Paste image on your blog
Caution: Take care that you don’t make this image you just generated as clickable using a “mailto:” link or displaying your email address in this image’s alt-text. This would negate what you just did making your email address visible to the spam bots!

Spammers are getting smarter by the day.
Right after g-mail when live and everyone started using images for there email address someone created a robot that searches for a specific byte sequence that was common to that image then using a robot to find the email address in the image and add it to the spam list.
